Vendor Questions—

Are you unsure about what to ask a vendor when hiring for your event? At times it can become difficult as you do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable; however, when considering your budget and the comfort of you and your guests here are questions to consider. 


Questions for a photographer:

  1. What is your style?
  2. Have you shot at this location before?
  3. Is this your main profession?
  4. How long have you been in this business and who are your main clients?
  5. Can I get a referral?
  6. Do you have a website or social media presence?
  7. When is the expected turnaround time of your photos?
  8. What is included in each package you offer?
  9. Do you offer digital on-site photos? and
  10. What is your deposit and when is the final payment due?

Questions for a DJ:

  1. Are you available for the date of this event?
  2. Have you DJed at this venue?
  3. How long have you been in business?
  4. Do you require a playlist, if not, how are songs selected for specific themes?
  5. Is it easy for you to rearrange the playlist at the event?
  6. Will you take guests’ requests at the event?
  7. Do you have a website or social media presence?
  8. How much time do you need to set-up before the event?
  9. Will you offer a cordless microphone, if needed?
  10. Will the music continue to play when you take a break?
  11. What room size is best for your sound system?
  12. Do you offer special lighting on a dance floor?
